Why Join The Team? As a Health, Safety and Workplace Manager within our organization, you will play an essential role in implementing and overseeing initiatives aimed at ensuring employee safety, promoting workplace health, and protecting the environment across our company.
You will work closely with operational teams and leadership to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards while fostering a culture of prevention and sustainability.
This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday with flexible hours, based in Longueuil, and performed exclusively in office.
What will your day-to-day look like? Develop, implement, and manage health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with applicable regulations, RTX programs, and industry best practices.
Operationalize the site’s annual HSE strategic plan and support its implementation.
Collaborate with contractor management teams to implement preventive measures and solutions aimed at reducing workplace accidents, occupational illnesses, and environmental incidents.
Adopt a coaching approach focused on the development and individual accountability of team members.
Manage the workload of the team by establishing realistic timelines, effective resource planning, and action priorities.
Define clear and specific responsibilities for each member of the team.
Prepare periodic reports on health, safety, and environmental performance, highlighting key metrics and progress achieved.
Promote a culture of engagement in health, safety, and environmental practices across the company by organizing awareness campaigns and encouraging active participation from all employees.
Participate in the development of the plant’s health, safety, and environmental strategic development plan.
Implement corporate environmental, health, and safety excellence practices.
Propose innovative and safe solutions for all company facilities related to health, safety, and environmental matters.
What do you need to be successful? Hold a university degree in an appropriate discipline (human resources, occupational health and safety, industrial relations).
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental laws and standards.
Demonstrated strong communication skills, tact, and sound political judgment.
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to translate challenges into concrete solutions.
Ability to support and advise business partners on occupational health and safety matters.
Demonstrated leadership and the ability to gain support and commitment for proposed solutions.
Strong change management skills, with the ability to manage large-scale change initiatives and their impacts across all levels of the organization and with all stakeholders.
Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken.
Although this position is part of a French-speaking work setting, it requires a working knowledge of English to read and understand specialized instructions, plans, drawings and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and sometimes communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
