Reporting to the Manager, Crew Planning, the Pairing Analyst is responsible for creating and analyzing all monthly pairings packages for both fleet types and all positions. They will work closely with Crew Optimization Analyst, multiple levels of management and liaise with Network Planning to discuss opportunities for improved efficiency while ensuring compliance with Company policies, Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and Fatigue Risk Management.
Duties and Responsibilities Build and optimize monthly crew pairings based on the commercial schedule, company policies and Canadian Aviation Regulations using pairing optimization software
Create reports identifying areas of improvement for efficiency and cost savings and present them to the Manager, Crew Planning for consideration
Track and maintain hotel cost comparisons for multiple pairing options
Liaise with Crew Optimization Analyst to prepare and analyze reports for planned pairings vs. completed pairings
Suggest and implement changes to the pairing optimizer for improved pairing output
Analyze multiple scenarios for various impacts to the efficiency of the operation, credit ratios and training impact
Review staffing plan in coordination with Manager, Crew Planning to strategize and determine optimal pairing distribution for future months
Compile monthly data sets and make recommendations for enhanced efficiency.
Assist with various reports for annual budget planning
Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy
Assist with other tasks as assigned by Manager, Crew Planning or delegate

Qualifications Minimum 1 year of experience in aviation planning, crew management, or a related field.
Proficiency with pairing optimization software, preferably S3RUS, and familiarity with crew management systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex logistics and scheduling tasks.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively with multiple departments and levels of management.
Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and crew satisfaction.
