About The Role
Reporting to the Senior Geologist Supervisor, the Geologist or Geologist-in-Training (GIT) collaborates with professionals to support mining operations at Fording River. The successful candidate learns geology practices under guidance and mentorship, with a 4-year program and rotations every 18-24 months to build well-rounded skills toward becoming a professional geologist.
In This Role You Will
Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
Work within our safety culture, sustainability strategy, and environmental commitments
Analyze, validate, and interpret geological data (including QAQC processes) for use in resource estimation
Generate and update 3D geological resource models to support mine planning functions
Conduct quarterly reconciliations and investigate variances to provide recommendations for improvement
Assist with the planning of annual exploration programs
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with a practical understanding of open-pit mining and geology concepts
Possess a strong desire to work in the field and collaborate with technical and operational departments to achieve results

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or related field
Registered, or eligible to register, with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC); EVR will support eligible employees with their EGBC registration
Strong digital literacy in database and geological modelling software; experience with statistical analysis tools and Python programming is an asset
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
Experience in a mining environment; previous experience in open pit, truck and shovel operations is preferred
Salary range: $91,300 - $126,800.
