We are seeking Field Service Technicians to join our electrical testing, maintenance, and commissioning team. This role involves performing field services on low, medium, and high voltage electrical distribution equipment in industrial, commercial, and utility environments. Technicians will travel to client sites to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operation of power systems.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will vary based on experience level and certification but may include:
Perform electrical acceptance and maintenance testing on transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, protective relays, cables, and other power system components.
Conduct diagnostic tests (e.g., insulation resistance, power factor, TTR, Doble, VLF/DC Hipot, Tan Delta) as applicable to skill level.
Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical distribution equipment.
Assist with or lead commissioning activities for new electrical installations.
Ensure compliance with all company, client, and industry safety standards (OSHA, NFPA 70E, NETA, IEEE, ANSI, CSA).
Prepare accurate and detailed test reports, documenting all findings and recommendations.
Interface with clients to communicate project updates, findings, and technical recommendations.
Mentor and support junior technicians as appropriate for experience level.
Maintain tools, test equipment, and vehicles in safe and operational condition.
Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency service requests when required.
Qualifications
5+ years’ experience in the electrical field (field testing, commissioning, maintenance,
or related).
E.I.T., C.E.T., Red Seal Electrician, or equivalent certification required; MEARIE Group certifications are an asset.
NETA or NICET certification considered an asset.
Strong working knowledge of electrical theory, safety standards, and applicable codes.
Proficiency with electrical test equipment and related software.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or lead a crew.
Eligible to work in Canada.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and work in various environments.
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer service.
Willingness to travel regionally, nationally, and internationally (up to 75% depending on project load).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
