This permanent, full time position offers the chance to join the Department of Perfusion Services in Halifax. As a Perfusionist, you will engage in complex processes like ECMO, VADs, and IABP therapy. Contributing to diverse, high-acuity cases, you will enhance your clinical skills while working with advanced technology in life-saving procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide ECMO support for cardiac surgeries
• Operate ventricular assist devices (VADs) effectively
• Manage intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) therapy
• Support multidisciplinary teams in complex procedures
• Utilize autologous blood recovery systems
Requirements:
• Graduate of an accredited Perfusion Technology program
• Certification or eligibility with Canadian Society of Clinical Perfusion
• Experience in cardiopulmonary bypass procedures a plus
• Ability to function under pressure in emergencies
• Interest in research and quality assurance development
