Position Information Temporary position until approximately October 03, 2027.
This position is for the Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring Department. It is a corporate position, with a home base at the Civic Campus of The Ottawa Hospital.
Rotation/Shifts Days, and evenings, including weekends, 8 hour shifts.
Basic Requirements Diploma from a recognized Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist Program;
Registered with the BRETC (Board of Registration of EMG Technologists of Canada);
Seventeen (17) week placement in a hospital setting (Electroneurodiagnostic Community College Program) or Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring (IONM) certification program if it develops practical placement in an OR hospital setting;
CPR/First Aid;
Knowledge of basic infection control standards,



electrodiagnostic instrumentation and equipment including electrodes, pattern recognition, various medical and pharmacological conditions that influence evoked potentials and/or EEG;
Good knowledge of neuroanatomy, physiology, infection control, basic electronics and electrical safety;
Experience working with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications;
Good written and verbal communication skills;
Positive interpersonal skills;
Sound judgement and problem solving skills;
Ability to work independently;
Eligible to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications Two (2) year Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring (IONM) Graduate Certificate;
Proficiency in English and French – oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
