Join Alexa Connections and help revolutionize how the world connects. As a Software Development Engineer on the Alexa Connections team, you'll work at the intersection of disruptive AI technologies and real-world impact, making a difference for millions of customers.
You’ll drive the development of next‑generation communication features powered by advanced AI technologies, including Generative, Agentic, and Real‑time AI. You’ll work closely with cross‑functional teams including product management, design, and data science to design and deliver innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities Influence product and technology strategy by helping define product features, refine system architecture, and spearhead Agentic AI and LLM best practices
Build agentic APIs to deliver low‑latency, low‑cost, highly reliable, and highly scalable cloud services and device software solutions
Drive and lead software design, development standards, team processes, and code reviews
Optimize software libraries for low latency, CPU and memory footprint
Deliver high‑quality software in a dynamic, team‑focused Agile/Scrum environment
Contribute to the career development of colleagues, improving their technical knowledge and engineering practices
Basic Qualifications 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience
2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Compensation Base salary range: $114,800 – $191,800 CAD annually. Total compensation may include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
