The Role As a Senior Architectural Technologist, you’ll play a key role in the successful delivery of projects from design development through construction administration. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the technical side of architecture and takes pride in producing accurate, coordinated, and highly detailed construction documentation.
Working closely with architects, consultants, and project teams, you’ll help ensure projects are technically sound, well coordinated, and ready for construction while mentoring junior staff and contributing to the firm’s technical standards.
Responsibilities Lead the preparation of high-quality construction documentation using Revit
Develop technical details and building assemblies for both small-scale and large-scale architectural projects
Produce clear, accurate, and coordinated drawing packages through all phases of project delivery
Coordinate architectural drawings with structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, and specialty consultants
Identify and resolve coordination issues before construction
Review drawing packages for quality, constructability, and technical accuracy
Support projects through permit, tender, and construction phases
Respond to RFIs, review shop drawings, and assist with construction administration as required
Collaborate closely with architects, project managers, consultants, and clients
Mentor junior technologists by providing guidance on detailing, documentation standards, consultant coordination, and best practices
Contribute to the ongoing development of office technical standards and documentation processes
What We're Looking For 10+ years of experience as an Architectural Technologist
Diploma or Degree in Architectural Technology or a related discipline
Advanced proficiency in Revit with extensive experience producing construction documentation
Demonstrated expertise in technical detailing across both small-scale and large-scale architectural projects, with the ability to develop practical, well-coordinated construction solutions for a variety of building types and levels of complexity
Strong understanding of building envelope assemblies, building systems, construction methodologies, materials, and constructability
Extensive experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams
Strong knowledge of the BC Building Code, Vancouver Building By-law, and local construction practices
Proven ability to produce highly coordinated, accurate, and technically sound construction drawing packages
Experience supporting projects through permit, tender, and construction phases
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven mentorship experience, with the ability to guide and support junior technologists
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities while working collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams
