The Team You'll Work With
You will be joining our North America Contracts team (US and Canada). Carta Law is the largest AI‑native law firm for private capital, created by the merger of Avantia Law and Carta. Lawyers and paralegals work alongside embedded AI agents to deliver investor onboarding, transaction KYC and high‑volume legal work with a speed and consistency that traditional firms cannot match. As a Junior Paralegal, you will rotate across or specialize within one of three practice areas depending on your strengths and interests.

The Problems You'll Solve

Support lawyers with first‑round markups of investment‑related NDAs and commercial contracts

Manage document lifecycles, track deadlines, communicate with counterparties and assist with execution

Work closely with lawyers and senior paralegals, contributing to high‑quality client delivery across fast‑moving, high‑volume matters

Build commercial and legal expertise over time, with opportunities to take ownership of client accounts and progress towards qualification via the SQE route

About You

Has a bachelor’s degree in law or equivalent (preferred); prior exposure to NDAs or KYC processes is a plus but not required

Eager to learn and grow; motivated,



curious and excited to develop expertise in legal practice – whether compliance, contracts or funds

Organized and efficient; prioritizes well, manages competing deadlines and keeps matters moving without losing attention to detail

Strong communicator; writes and speaks clearly and professionally, understanding that clients expect crisp, concise advice

A self‑starter; takes initiative, works independently when needed and proactively flags issues before they become problems

A team player; collaborates effectively with lawyers, senior paralegals and client‑facing teams across a fast‑paced environment

Salary and Benefits
Carta’s compensation package includes a market‑market-competitive salary, equity for all full‑time roles, exceptional benefits and, for applicable roles, commission plans. The expected cash compensation (salary + commission if applicable) range for this role is the following:

$78,000 – $97,600 CAD in Toronto
