embedded software engineer
We're looking for an experienced embedded software engineer to join our development team. You will be working on a small software team to produce code for a new robotic product. Embedded experience is a must for this role.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and test embedded software (firmware)

Interact frequently with the team via GitHub issues/pull-requests/projects, code reviews, instant messaging, and email

Report frequently on progress against key project deliverables

Work independently with general direction from team leads

Preferred qualifications

Experience using RTOS with C++

Experience adapting C code to work with C++

Experience with GCC for ARM toolchain under Linux development workplace

Experience with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers

Experience debugging embedded systems with GDB and SEGGER tools

Experience configuring scheduler, task priorities, and interrupt priorities in an embedded system

Strong experience with object oriented programming methodologies, especially design patterns and data structures

Experience integrating control code, especially a motor driver, inertial measurement unit (IMU), gyroscope (gyro), or accelerometer





Experience writing device drivers with DMA

Hands-on experience of using oscilloscope to do basic electronic circuit troubleshooting

Minimum qualifications

Bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent

Strong experience with embedded C++ and C (at least 3 years)

2-years experience with embedded ARM micro-processors

Experience writing device drivers

Experience with multi-threaded design

Experience configuring, debugging, and profiling a real-time operating system (RTOS)

Experience writing or editing Makefiles, shell scripts, or equivalent

Experience with Git or SVN

Experience reading datasheets and schematics
