Project Context

As a Systems Engineer specializing in pneumatic systems, you will join the Air Systems Engineering team within the aerospace sector. You will contribute to the design, integration, and validation of critical aeronautical systems, including:

- Ice and rain protection
- Cabin pressurization
- Heating systems
- Air distribution and ventilation

This role supports engineering initiatives, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards and certification requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Lead systems engineering activities in the pneumatic discipline, ensuring seamless integration and interface management with internal teams and suppliers.

Define pneumatic system architectures, develop specifications, and conduct functional modeling and technical studies.





Oversee requirements validation and verification, ensuring alignment with project objectives.

Manage suppliers from technical and project perspectives, including review and approval of design documents (drawings, test procedures, qualification reports).

Analyze ground and flight test results, preparing technical reports to demonstrate compliance with certification standards (e.g., DO-160, Mil-Std 810).

Support the development of test platforms (benches, flight test vehicles) and troubleshoot system-related issues in collaboration with production and in-service teams.

Contribute to design modifications and optimized solutions while adhering to project schedules and milestones.

Work within a multidisciplinary team to address product definition and problem-solving challenges.

Candidate Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

5–15 years of technical experience in the aerospace industry (candidates from other sectors will not be considered).

Strong expertise in fluid dynamics and thermodynamics, with a focus on pneumatic systems.

Knowledge of component qualification standards (DO-160, Mil-Std 810) and design assurance processes (ARP4754 A).

Experience in functional modeling, system performance testing, and project management.

Proficiency in MS Office and system design tools (e.g., model-based engineering, simulation software).

Excellent analytical, problem-solving,



and communication skills (written and verbal).

Ability to collaborate effectively in a team workplace and adapt to short-term travel assignments.

In accordance with our compensation practices, ALTEN is providing the salary range associated with this chance. Final compensation will be determined after considering several factors, including professional experience, skill set, educational background, certifications, and geographic market conditions. The current target salary range for this role is $120,000 – $150,000 per year.
