Job Title: AV Support Technician Location: Toronto, ON, Canada Duration: 4 months on T4 About the Role: Our Client is looking for an experienced AV Support Technician Contractor to join the Workplace Technology team.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting conference room AV systems, performing daily AV sweeps, troubleshooting meeting room technology, setting up new conference rooms, and assisting with company events when needed.
Key Responsibilities: Conference Room AV Support & Sweeps Perform daily AV sweeps of all conference rooms to proactively identify and resolve issues.
Support employees using conference room AV systems, both on-site and remote.
Troubleshoot Google Meet hardware and software, including Google Meet room kits, cameras, and controllers.
Support and maintain Logitech Rally products, including cameras, speakers, microphones, Rally Bar, and Rally Bar Mini.
Troubleshoot Neat Bar Pro systems, including connectivity, audio/video quality, and firmware.
Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Logitech scheduling displays and room schedulers.
Work with escalation points to improve the end-user experience.
Train employees on proper use of conference room AV equipment.
Respond to IT Helpdesk support requests and ticketing system escalations.
Manage AV and IT hardware/software inventory, including ordering and stocking spare equipment.
Install and configure current conference rooms from the ground up.
Mount displays and cameras.
Run and terminate cabling.
Install and provision conference room hardware.
Configure, calibrate, and maintain conference room audio systems, including DSPs, mixers, microphones,
and speakers.
Troubleshoot conference room issues involving hardware, software, networking, and scheduling systems.
Document room configurations, signal flow diagrams, and equipment inventories.
Assist with cabling, rack builds, and low-voltage wiring for new or renovated conference rooms.
Event Support (Secondary) Assist the events team with AV setup, breakdown, and on-site support for internal meetings and company events.
Provide backup support for live AV events, including all-hands meetings, town halls, and webinars.
Event support is a secondary responsibility and does not include leading event production.
Documentation, Systems & Continuous Improvement Develop and maintain knowledge base articles and runbooks in Confluence.
Monitor conference room AV system health using remote monitoring and management tools.
Apply firmware and software updates as needed.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors for AV procurement, repairs, installations, and preventive maintenance.
Stay current with conference room AV and unified communications technologies and recommend improvements.
Required Qualifications: 3 5+ years of experience in IT/AV support with a focus on conference room and meeting-space AV.
Hands-on experience with Logitech Rally products.
Experience supporting Neat Bar Pro or similar all-in-one video bar systems.
Experience configuring and troubleshooting Logitech scheduling displays/room schedulers.
Strong experience troubleshooting Google Meet hardware and software.
Experience installing and troubleshooting conference rooms, including mounting, cabling, configuration, and testing.
Strong customer service skills with a service-oriented attitude.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lift and handle equipment weighing 50+ lbs.
Basic to intermediate networking knowledge, including servers, switches, WiFi, and AV-over-IP fundamentals.
Experience administering Apple computer products using enterprise management tools.
Experience supporting Windows laptops and desktops.
Experience using enterprise ticketing systems.
Familiarity with HDMI, SDI, Dante, USB-C, and AVoIP.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Some experience supporting live events is a plus but not a primary requirement.
Preferred Qualifications: AVIXA CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) certification or actively pursuing one.
Experience with Poly, Yealink, Crestron, or similar conferencing platforms.
Experience with Crestron, Extron, or Q-SYS control systems.
Experience with Q-SYS, Biamp, or Extron audio DSP platforms.
Ability to read and interpret AV signal flow diagrams and schematics.
Bachelor''s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and hands-on experience.
