Overview Working as a member of the inter-professional team, the Physiotherapist will be responsible for providing assessment, consultation and education to the patient, family members and the interprofessional team within a variety of program areas including but not limited to critical care, respirology, medicine, stroke, surgery & the emergency department.
The Physiotherapist provides care to patients of the hospital and its affiliates.
The successful candidate will participate in program development and evaluation as well as actively participating in regular team meetings, liaising with community-based providers, advocating on behalf of clients and their families and participation in inter-professional patient and family conferences as needed.
Primary assignment for this position will be in respirology and medicine.
Primary assignment is subject to change based on operational needs.
Rotation into the weekends is required.
Education - in Physiotherapy (or equivalent) - Member in good standing with College of Physiotherapists of Ontario - Additional certification/training in neurological Physiotherapy techniques preferred Experience - Registration and license to practice with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and in good standing - Recent experience in acute care hospital-based orthopedics, medicine, stroke/neuro, and geriatric care preferred - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work and function effectively as an interdisciplinary team member -Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment -Strong interpersonal,
