ABOUT THE ROLE The Transit Substation Project Manager is responsible for managing the direction of substation construction projects.
The manager supports the development of project guidelines and manages the General Foremen and Superintendents to maximize labor, equipment and planning processes for the successful execution of the Districts substation construction projects.
The Substation Construction Manager assists with contract proposals, development, and approval.

Essential Functions Project execution for substation construction and security barrier fence construction projects to include monitoring project progress and management of customer relations Maintain schedules for construction crews to ensure all projects are adequately staffed Oversee construction progress to determine the status of completion Work closely with management team to provide updates on scheduling and overall project progress Evaluate job sites to ensure inspection standards are achieved Work closely with the senior management team to help facilitate development of opportunities and secure new contracts Work with Estimators to establish work methods and review all estimates with management Work with Fleet Department to maximize the fleet resources of the company Manage union labor relations Train field personnel in technical skills and safety methods Follow and enforce all safety protocols established by the Company and safety standards Support project locations throughout assigned areas Other duties as assigned Regular and predictable attendance Essential functions of this position are to be performed at a Company-designated office or field location Understand and comply with the Companys Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific skilled and ethical conduct standards ABOUT YOU Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience working in electric energy substation and security barrier fence construction is required Previous Sky
Train or LRT PS&D; experience is valued Experience as a Journeyman Lineman preferred, but not mandatory 3 - 5 years of experience in Project Management Methodology Preferred Education Bachelors degree in Construction Management or similar discipline preferred; combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degree Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Comprehensive knowledge of substation construction policies, procedures, and practices Ability to travel and relocate according to project needs Must be a self-starter who is comfortable in an autonomous work environment Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities Excellent interpersonal skills Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) Project management skills Planning skills Ability to work as part of a team Ability to build collaborative relationships WHAT WE OFFER Compensation & Benefits
