Experiencing steady growth in the renewable energy market in Québec and across Canada, WSP's Energy - Hydropower and Dams team is looking to strengthen its geotechnical group specialized in dam engineering.

We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer - Hydro & Dams to join our highly specialized multidisciplinary team bringing together experts in geotechnical, civil, hydraulic, structural, mechanical, electrical, and hydrometry disciplines, working in close collaboration on large-scale public and private projects.

In this role, you will serve as a senior technical leader, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development support to engineers and technicians while contributing to the successful delivery of complex dam and hydropower projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional who is passionate about developing talent, sharing technical expertise, and helping shape the next generation of engineers within a collaborative and growing team.

You will join a highly specialized multidisciplinary team bringing together experts in geotechnical, civil, hydraulic, structural, mechanical, electrical, and hydrometry disciplines, working in close collaboration on large-scale public and private projects.

Your Impact

- Act as a senior engineer for:

- The design of retaining earth structures (at various stage of the engineering process);
- inspections of earthfill retaining structures.
- Plans and technical specifications preparation.
- Technical support during construction;
- Risk assessment and dam safety review
- Act as Project Manager or Discipline Lead for major project within the group;
- Mentor and support engineers and technicians within your technical discipline and contribute to their professional development.
- Participate in quality control of deliverables,



including design review meetings and multidisciplinary coordination meetings.
- Contribute to the preparation of proposals and to the development of the business unit.

The Skills That Set You Apart
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, geological engineering, or another relevant discipline;
- Master's degree, with a specialisation in geotechnical engineering, an asset
- Strong experience in the design of earthfill dams and retention structures;
- Strong experience in dam inspections and dam safety evaluation studies;
- Experience in multidisciplinary project in a discipline lead role;
- Experience in project management;
- Leadership, initiative, attention to detail, and solid teamwork skills;
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams;
- Strong analytical, structured, and critical thinking skills;
- Autonomy, dynamism, and a solution-oriented mindset.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $104,100 - $138,000
MB & ON: $95,000 - $130,800
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $94,100 - $124,900
