Production Planner

Key Job Responsibilities:

- Running MRP – Creating / updating production work orders, analyzing suggestions, work order quantities, safety stocks, material on hand and scheduling work orders accordingly.
- Vendor Managed Inventory – Monitor stock levels, weekly shipping schedule, forecast demand in system,expeditematerialand maintain a high fill rate.
- Planning / prioritizing production work orders, releasing work orders,determiningmanpower, raw materials needed, reviewing completed work orders and production standards.

Reports to: Operations Manager

Primary work location: Montreal, Quebec

Travel requirement: Limited travel

Tasks & Responsibilities:

- Responsible for weekly production scheduling.
- Ensure products are produced on time and in a profitable manner.
- Review completed work orders, production standards and employee production numbers.
- Ensure production schedules are met and shipments to customers are on time.
- Verify job quantities and labour hours are booked properly.
- Work closely with purchasing, production, sales, engineering, and shipping departments.
- Monitor production activities and provide feedback to management.
- Providing timely responses to specific order inquiries from sales.
- Identifying a solution when conflict occurs between demand and capacity.
- Able to deal with expedites, shortages and reorganizing production schedule.
- Maintain vendor managed inventory levels accordingly.
- Create / update demand schedule for vendor managed inventory.
- Create forecasts and analyze historical data / seasonal trends.
- Ability to analyze,



revise andutilizedata to accurately foresee customer demand.
- Processing MRP daily and schedule demand accurately.
- Review /expeditematerial needed to complete production orders.
- Updating, reviewing, and canceling production work orders.
- Maintain finished goods inventory at target levels and adjust regularly.
- Review raw material / component safety stock levels based on lead times, costs,storageand usage in conjunction with purchasing.
- Do all necessary paperwork / administrative work asrequired.
- Attend meetings,participatein Kaizeneventsand make lean suggestions.
- Able to managea large number ofproducts and SKUs.
- Maintain data integrity within the ERP system.
- Able to work on projects andadditionalduties as requested.

- Spoken languages: French / English bilingual
- Written languages: French / English bilingual

Experience / Education / Skillset:

- 3years’ experience as a Production Planner / Scheduler or similar role.
- Experience using MRP, MS Office and ERP systems.
- Knowledge of Epicor ERP an asset
- Prior experience working in a manufacturing workplace.
- Previoussupervisor / managerial role an asset.
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain & Operations Management or related field.

Work schedule:

- Full Time, permanent position
- Work schedule, 40 hours a week.
