Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Hydrovac Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating hydrovac trucks to excavate and expose underground utilities, pipelines, and other infrastructure with precision and care. Your expertise will help ensure projects are completed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with safety standards. This position offers an exciting chance to work on diverse construction sites, utilizing heavy equipment to support infrastructure development and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Operate hydrovac trucks to excavate around sensitive underground utilities, pipelines, and infrastructure with accuracy and safety.
- Conduct thorough site assessments to determine the safest excavation approach and identify potential hazards.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues promptly, ensuring minimal downtime during operations.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of excavation sites, including positioning of machinery such as loaders, excavators, dozers, graders, and backhoes as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of excavation activities, including measurements, site conditions, and safety checks.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures diligently to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, contractors, and project managers to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
Skills
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as hydrovacs, excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, backhoes, and horizontal drilling machinery.
- Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and minor repairs of heavy equipment.
- Ability to operate Caterpillar machinery confidently and efficiently.
- Knowledge of construction processes including paving and site preparation techniques.
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in heavy vehicle operation.
- Familiarity with safety regulations related to construction sites and heavy equipment use.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors effectively.

Pay: $42.00-$47.00 per hour
