Sales Manager (Player-Coach)

As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Sales Manager who is passionate about building high-performing teams while remaining actively involved in winning business.
Position Summary
This is not a traditional management role.
We are looking for a player-coach—someone who enjoys developing people while also participating in strategic sales opportunities. You will lead, coach, and grow our sales organization while partnering with Account Executives on complex enterprise opportunities.
Success in this role requires strong leadership, excellent coaching skills, a consultative sales approach, and the ability to build scalable sales processes that deliver predictable revenue growth.
Initially, you will manage a small team while helping shape the future of our sales organization as we continue to expand.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop Account Executives and Business Development Representatives.
- Conduct weekly coaching sessions and deal reviews.
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain top sales talent.
- Build a high-performance, customer-focused sales culture.
- Establish clear performance expectations and accountability.
Revenue Growth
- Deliver team quarterly and annual ARR targets.
- Personally assist with strategic enterprise opportunities.
- Participate in executive-level customer meetings and presentations.
- Support pricing, negotiations, and closing activities when required.
- Improve overall sales execution and consistency.
Pipeline & Forecasting
- Ensure healthy pipeline coverage across the team.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and CRM discipline.
- Review pipeline health weekly and remove obstacles to closing business.
- Partner with Marketing to improve lead quality and conversion rates.
Sales Process Improvement
- Standardize sales methodologies, qualification criteria, and sales playbooks.
- Improve proposal quality, competitive positioning, and deal strategy.
- Introduce best practices that improve productivity and win rates.
- Use data to identify trends and coaching opportunities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Marketing on demand generation and campaigns.
- Work with Customer Success to ensure smooth customer transitions.
- Collaborate with Product Management to communicate customer feedback and market requirements.
- Support executive leadership with sales planning and reporting.
What Success Looks LikeFirst 30 Days
- Complete product and industry onboarding.
- Learn the Celayix sales process, target industries, and competitive positioning.
- Meet individually with team members and key stakeholders.
- Review current opportunities, sales metrics, and pipeline quality.
- Participate in customer meetings and product demonstrations.
First 60 Days
- Begin regular coaching and deal reviews.
- Establish a consistent forecasting cadence.
- Identify improvements to pipeline management and sales execution.
- Build relationships with key prospects and customers.
- Contribute to strategic opportunities.
First 90 Days
- Deliver a sales improvement plan.
- Improve pipeline quality and forecasting accuracy.
- Implement a structured coaching program.
- Help close strategic enterprise opportunities.
- Present quarterly sales performance and recommendations to executive leadership.
QualificationsRequired
- 7+ years of B2B SaaS sales experience.
- 3+ years leading and coaching sales teams.
- Demonstrated success selling enterprise or mid-market software solutions.
- Strong consultative selling and negotiation skills.
- Experience managing CRM systems such as HubSpot or Salesforce.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and forecasting abilities.
Preferred
- Experience selling Workforce Management, HR Technology, Scheduling, Time & Attendance, Payroll, ERP, or related enterprise software.
- Experience selling into security, healthcare, hospitality, staffing, municipal, or service-based organizations.
- Experience with modern sales methodologies such as MEDDICC, Challenger, or SPIN Selling.
