Little Cubs Learning Centre is looking for a compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) or Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) to join our team in a part-time enhancement role within our Before & After School (BAS) Program, beginning September 3, 2026.

This position provides dedicated 1:1 support to a child, working closely alongside our classroom educators to foster inclusion, independence, and meaningful participation in all aspects of the program.

Wage

RECE: $24.86-$25.86 per hour

ECA (Non-RECE): $21.00-$23.00 per hour

About the Role

As an Enhancement Educator, you will:

- Provide individualized 1:1 support to a child within our BAS program.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment where every child can thrive.
- Work collaboratively with the classroom team to adapt activities and routines to meet the child’s individual needs.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive peer relationships.
- Support the child’s participation in all aspects of the daily program.
- Build positive relationships with families, educators, and external professionals when appropriate.
- Follow Little Cubs Learning Centre’s philosophy, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

- Support children through play-based learning aligned with How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years (HDLH).
- Assist educators in implementing engaging, age-appropriate activities.
- Ensure children’s safety, well-being, and inclusion throughout the day.
- Support children’s personal care needs, including toileting and hygiene when required.
- Promote positive behaviour through respectful guidance and encouragement.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting learning environment.
- Assist with classroom cleaning, toy sanitization, and daily health and safety practices.




- Utilize technology for documentation when required.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who has:

- Experience working with children, preferably in a childcare, school, or enhancement support setting.
- Experience supporting children with diverse learning or developmental needs is considered a strong asset.
- A genuine passion for helping children succeed.
- Robust communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility, patience, and a positive attitude.
- The ability to adapt to changing needs throughout the day.

Requirements

- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in valuable standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators orrelevant experience as an Early Childhood Assistant (ECA).
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR (Level C).
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
- Up-to-date immunizations as required.
- WHMIS certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA).
- Familiarity with How Does Learning Happen? is considered an asset.
- Basic computer skills.
