About the Role

DPAL Construction is looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter to join our growing team. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can work independently, and can lead projects while maintaining a high standard of quality and professionalism.

This position involves working alongside labourers, apprentices, subcontractors, and clients on a variety of residential and restoration projects throughout the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley.

Responsibilities

- Lead and organize small crews on site.
- Install interior finish carpentry, including baseboards, casings, doors, shelving, and trim.
- Complete exterior finish carpentry.
- Build fences, decks, and other pressure-treated wood structures.
- Read and follow project scopes and plans.
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Communicate professionally with management, clients, suppliers, and other trades.
- Assist with training and mentoring less experienced team members.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site.

Qualifications

- Several years of hands-on carpentry experience.
- Strong finish carpentry skills are required.
- Experience with decks, fences, framing, and exterior carpentry is an asset.




- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Professional attitude and reliable work ethic.
- Excellent communication skills.
- English proficiency is preferred, as clear communication with clients and team members is an important part of the role.

Requirements

- Valid driver's licence.
- A pickup truck is preferred.
- Own tools or a well-equipped personal tool collection is preferred.
- Reliable transportation to various job sites throughout Surrey, Langley, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, and Agassiz.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment.
