Geppetto Technologies is a small software company in Calgary. We build tools that help organizations reach people and act on what they learn. Our software is kinetic: it's not a database you stare at, it's about what you do with the information once you have it. We're a small team, we ship to real users, and we build things that work rather than AI-enabled vaporware that falls apart the moment someone actually uses it.
What you'll be doing
Building the software behind our products. You'll be writing the application code and the systems it runs on, someone who builds instead of serving process for its own sake. You'll have a hand in architecture, data, security, and the decisions behind all of it.
You'll fit in here if you've done some of this:
- Building robust, scalable backend systems with PostgreSQL and Golang (connection pooling, load balancing,
server-side caching, replication, failure and partition tolerance)
- Designing application architecture and APIs that hold up as products grow
- Writing and shipping production code, with version control and deployments that stay in sync
- Optimizing PostgreSQL performance through schema design, indexing strategies, and query tuning
- Enforcing system security and compliance requirements via application-specific database role permissions
- Configuring application telemetry and alerting so you know what your code is doing in the wild
