We're looking for a dedicated Bookkeeper to take full ownership of the day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting operations for a dynamic construction and sales business. This role gives you the opportunity to bring order and clarity to financial records that have been managed by the business owner for two years, freeing them to scale the business while you ensure every transaction is accurate, reconciled, and up to date. You will work independently with direct communication to the business owner and the flexibility to manage your own schedule.
Client Overview
Our client is a growing construction and sales business based in Canada that has evolved from on-site concrete work into a more scalable online sales model. The founder has built all systems and processes from the ground up over the past two years and is now ready to delegate back-end financial operations to focus on high-value growth activities.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, Flexible within client's time zone | Pacific Time (20 work hours per week)
Responsibilities
- Reconcile accounts and ensure all financial records are balanced and current
- Record all financial transactions accurately in QuickBooks
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Generate and send invoices to clients in a timely manner
- Follow up with clients on outstanding payments and aging receivables
- Maintain organized and accessible financial documentation
- Provide clarity on the current financial state of the business to support decision-making
- Support the transition from owner-managed bookkeeping to a scalable financial system
Requirements
- Proven experience with bookkeeping and accounting tasks
- Robust proficiency in QuickBooks
- Experience reconciling accounts and maintaining accurate financial records
- Ability to manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoicing
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Qualifications
- Experience in the construction or sales industry is a bonus
- Prior experience working with startups or owner-operated businesses is helpful
- Familiarity with online sales business models is a bonus
