Position Title: Bartender
Reports To: Lodge Manager
Location: Bella Coola Heli Sports lodges, Remote (shift work)
Schedule: 15 days on, 13 or 6 days off (approximately), 10hrs/ a day
Terms: Seasonal Full-Time (December-April)

Bella Coola Heli Sports operates in the glaciated wilderness of BC’s central coast. We provide world-class skiing in the winter, and connect our guests with incredible wilderness adventures in the summer. We operate from three remote properties, one of which is in the Tatla Lake region of the Chilcotin’s and two which are in the Bella Coola Valley. We boast the largest heli-skiing tenure of any operator in the world and our Himalayan like mountains draw outdoor enthusiasts from around the world.
Job Description
We are looking for hardworking, hospitality-driven individuals who bring energy, warmth, and professionalism to every guest interaction. As the Bartender at Bella Coola Heli Sports, you play a key role in creating the welcoming atmosphere guests return to after a day in the mountains. From crafting perfectly executed cocktails to recommending thoughtful wine pairings and facilitating lively après conversations, you'll help create memorable moments that become part of the overall heli-ski experience.
This is a physically active and hands-on position that combines bartending, guest hosting, inventory management, and operational support. While you will lead the lodge's beverage service, you are also an integral part of the broader hospitality team, assisting across departments whenever needed. We are looking for someone who takes pride in consistency, precision, and attention to detail, delivering every beverage with confidence while following our thoughtfully curated wine and beverage program. Success in this role comes from balancing relaxed mountain hospitality with elevated service standards, genuine guest connections, and a collaborative team-first attitude.
Responsibilities:
Beverage Service & Guest Experience
- Deliver warm,
approachable, and professional service throughout every guest interaction.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with consistency and attention to presentation, following Bella Coola Heli Sports' established beverage and wine program.
- Confidently recommend wines, beers, spirits, and cocktails while supporting the dining experience with knowledgeable beverage service.
- Create a welcoming après atmosphere where guests feel comfortable, engaged, and cared for.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to execute established food and beverage pairings.
Beverage Program & Inventory
- Maintain the lodge bar to the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation.
- Monitor inventory levels of wines, spirits, beers, mixers, and bar supplies, working with management to facilitate ordering and restocking.
- Complete daily alcohol sales reporting and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Store and handle all products in accordance with company standards and BC liquor regulations.
- Ensure the consistent execution of the lodge's beverage program throughout the season.
Lodge Operations & Team Collaboration
- Support meal service, hosting duties, and guest-facing lodge operations as required.
- Work collaboratively across departments, communicating effectively and offering assistance wherever needed.
- Adapt to changing operational priorities while maintaining exceptional guest service and professionalism.
- Assist with housekeeping and shared operational responsibilities in a remote lodge environment.
Safety & Professional Standards
- Maintain a valid Serving It Right certification and uphold all BC Liquor Laws.
- Promote responsible alcohol service while prioritizing guest wellbeing and safety.
- Represent Bella Coola Heli Sports with professionalism, warmth, and integrity in every guest interaction.
Qualifications:
- Valid Serving It Right Certificate.
- 3+ years of bartending or hospitality experience in a restaurant, hotel, lodge, or similar environment.
- Strong foundational knowledge of wine, beer, spirits, and classic cocktails. WSET Level 1 or equivalent wine knowledge preferred.
- Experience with inventory management and daily sales reconciliation.
- Professional, articulate, and personable demeanor.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering consistently high service standards.
- Ability to work long hours on your feet in a physically demanding environment.
- Comfortable living and working in a remote mountain lodge.
- Experience in luxury hospitality, remote lodges, heli-skiing, or adventure tourism preferred.
- Applicants must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents.
