About the Role

Nextreme Building Systems is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead our operations across a diverse business spanning modular home manufacturing, construction, and field services. We need someone who has managed or owned a business themselves and knows how to build and run their own crew — with a strong, hands-on construction background. Carpentry and General Contracting experience is our top priority; experience in plumbing, electrical, or metal manufacturing is a valuable asset. A working knowledge of civil construction — excavator use, trucking, formwork, and pipe laying — is also important, as projects will call on a broad range of site skills. This is a ground-floor leadership opportunity: you'll have real influence over how we grow, and the opportunity to become a partner in the business is available for the right person as we expand.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee day-to-day operations across construction, modular manufacturing, and field service divisions
- Build, lead, and manage crews across multiple trades and project types
- Oversee civil site work as needed, including excavation, trucking, formwork, and pipe laying
- Build the systems, structure, and accountability needed to scale confidently
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners across the NWT and Vancouver Island
- Support and mentor project managers, foremen, and trades leads
- Drive business growth,



including recent project acquisition and estimating oversight
- Ensure safety, quality, and budget standards are met across all projects
- Work across both Yellowknife, NT and Vancouver Island, BC operations as required

Qualifications

- Proven experience managing or owning a business, with the ability to build and lead your own crew
- Strong, hands-on background in Carpentry and General Contracting required
- Additional experience in Plumbing, Electrical, or metal manufacturing considered a strong asset
- Working knowledge of civil construction — excavator use, trucking, formwork, and pipe laying
- Demonstrated leadership and business management experience across diverse operations (manufacturing and construction)
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Willingness and ability to work across both Yellowknife and Vancouver Island
- Valid driver's licence
