Job Title: Driver / Yard Worker (Manual Transmission Required)
Location: Coquitlam, BC (supporting a client facility in Vancouver)
Job Type: Full‑Time | Permanent
Pay: $25.00 per hour to start, increasing to $27.00/hour once fully independent in the role.

We are currently hiring a Driver / Yard Worker for our client, operating a busy scrap metal facility serving the Lower Mainland in Vancouver. This role is a mix of driving and hands-on yard work and is ideal for someone who enjoys staying active and working in an industrial setting.

This is not a driving-only role. While driving is a key part of the position, successful candidates must also be comfortable assisting with yard operations and physical tasks throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities:

- Drive company trucks (manual transmission) to pick up and transport scrap metal
- Load, secure, and unload materials safely and efficiently
- Follow dispatch schedules and routing instructions
- Complete required paperwork (pre‑trip inspections, packing slips, scale tickets)
- Inspect loads for safety and compliance
- Support yard operations when not on the road
- Guide customers and assist with loading/unloading as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area




- Follow all company health and safety procedures

Equipment & Tools:

- Forklifts
- Torches and gas saws
- Shears and grinders
- Basic power tools

Work Workplace:

- Industrial, outdoor yard setting
- Physically active role involving lifting and moving materials
- Company trucks are older models
- Work is hands‑on and operational in nature
- Some days may be more yard‑focused, others more driving‑focused

Requirements:

- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (or higher)
- Clean driving abstract
- Manual transmission driving experience (required)
- Strong English communication skills
- Physically capable of performing labor‑based tasks
- Reliable, punctual, and safety‑conscious
