Position Summary
We are seeking a Registered Psychologist in good standing with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) to join our growing private practice as an independent contractor.
This role offers a unique opportunity to combine psychological assessment and diagnosis with psychotherapy. We are looking for someone who enjoys working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and is interested in helping us expand our assessment services while maintaining an active therapy caseload.
Responsibilities may include:
- Providing evidence-based psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and/or families
- Conducting comprehensive psychological assessments
- Providing diagnostic clarification and formal diagnoses within your scope of practice
- Preparing high-quality psychological assessment reports and other clinical documentation
- Completing reports and documentation to support WSIB and other third-party referrals
- Consulting with our team on complex clinical cases and providing psychological expertise when appropriate
- Collaborating with referring professionals, including physicians, legal professionals, insurers, and other healthcare providers
- Maintaining accurate, timely, and professional clinical records
The ideal candidate will:
- Be registered as a Psychologist with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario
- Have experience conducting psychological assessments and providing diagnostic services
- Enjoy both assessment work and ongoing psychotherapy
- Demonstrate excellent report writing and clinical documentation skills
- Have experience supporting clients involved with WSIB claims or similar systems (an asset)
- Have experience working with first responders, military personnel, or public safety personnel (strongly preferred)
- Value collaboration and enjoy consulting with an interdisciplinary clinical team
- Be committed to providing exceptional, evidence-based client care
Required Qualifications:
- Registration in good standing with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO)
- Professional liability insurance
- Minimum three years of clinical experience
- Strong assessment, diagnostic, and report writing skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative practice
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other common mental health concerns
- Experience providing services to first responders
- Experience with WSIB clients and documentation
- Training or experience in evidence-based therapies such as CBT, ACT, DBT, EMDR, CPT, or other trauma-informed approaches
