Requirements
Language
- English
Education
- College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma in Dental Assisting (1–2 years)
Experience
- at least 1 year of Canadian experience as a Certified Dental Assistant
Work Setting
- General dental practice
- Schedule: Sunday - Thursday, 10AM-6PM (Must be Okay to work on Sundays)
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for dental examinations and treatment.
- Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures inlcuding Surgery&Implants.;
- Prepare dental instruments, equipment, and filling materials.
- Sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment according to infection control protocols.
- Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays).
- Perform intra-oral duties within the scope of practice including Itero scanning.
- Polish teeth and clinical crowns, and apply fluoride and sealants.
- Fabricate and place temporary crowns and restorations.
- Take preliminary impressions for diagnostic casts.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and chart clinical procedures.
- Schedule and confirm appointments.
- Order, organize, and maintain dental and office supplies.
Qualifications
- Certification by the National Dental Assisting Examining Board (NDAEB)
- Registered and in good standing with the BC College of Oral Health Professionals (BCCOHP)
- Current CPR certification
- Experience of Cleardent software is amust
