Position: SolidWorks Specialist

Type: Contract

Compensation: $40 - $100/hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 10-40 hrs/week

Role Responsibilities

- Create fully-parametric 3D CAD models of mechanical parts and assemblies based on written briefs.
- Edit and update existing parametric models to meet new technical requirements with complete documentation.
- Audit and review models for dimensional accuracy, proper tolerance application, and manufacturability.
- Apply deep knowledge of DFM principles for various manufacturing processes throughout modeling tasks.
- Translate design intent and requirements into clear, structured CAD data suitable for AI model training.
- Communicate effectively with project coordinators and fellow contributors through detailed reports and updates.

Requirements





- Have solid relevant experience in parametric CAD (SolidWorks, FreeCAD, Fusion 360, or Autodesk Inventor).
- Practical application of GD&T; per ASME Y14.5 or equivalent standards in real-world manufacturing contexts.
- Track record in supporting at least two or more manufacturing methods: injection molding, sheet metal, CNC, or casting/forging.
- Current, active involvement in mechanical/industrial CAD modeling.
- Robust written and verbal communication skills, with emphasis on clear, concise project documentation.
