About the Role

Mount Royal University Cougars Athletics and Recreation is seeking a Recreation Facility Attendant to support the operation of indoor and outdoor recreation facilities. This role includes facility checks, event set-up and take-down, equipment and space preparation, and delivering excellent customer service in a rapid-paced, team-oriented environment.

This is a flexible position whose work schedule is variable and may include an irregular schedule of not less than three (3) hours per shift and up to thirty-five (35) hours per week. Shifts are scheduled for afternoons and evenings, Monday through Friday and morning through evening on weekends.

Responsibilities

- Conduct facility checks ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the recreation facility.
- Assist with set up and take down for Cougars varsity games and special events (indoors and outdoors).
- Ready facilities and equipment for external and internal university bookings.
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining recreation facilities, including fitness equipment.




- Assist with outdoor recreation facility maintenance and operations.
- Provide laundry services for various university departments.
- Provide superior customer service to all facility users.
- Provide general support to all recreation staff.

Qualifications

- Availability to work evenings or weekends or holidays (provide availability with application) with shifts that vary between 7 am and 11 pm
- Standard First Aid and CPR (within 2 months of hiring)
- Positive customer service skills with an open attitude to working with a diverse population
- Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to establish effective working relationships and work as a member of a team

Salary: $15.45 - $19.44 per hour
