Senior Home Care Aide

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and experienced Home Care Aide to provide one-on-one care and support for a senior gentleman in our home. This position offers the opportunity to build a meaningful relationship while helping maintain the client’s independence, dignity, and quality of life.

Our home is warm and welcoming. Caregivers are considered valued members of the care team and are often included in family meals, outings with our senior gentleman, and family activities.

Responsibilities

Personal Care

● Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.

● Assist with mobility, transfers, and walking as required.

● Encourage independence whenever possible while ensuring safety.

Client Support

● Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support.

● Administer medications as directed.

● Observe and report any changes in the client’s physical or emotional condition.

● Maintain accurate daily care notes and documentation.

Household Support

When not providing direct client care, duties include:

● Light housekeeping

● Laundry and linen care

● Meal preparation

● Maintaining a clean, organized,



and safe home environment

Qualifications

● Previous experience providing care for seniors is required.

● Healthcare Aide certification is considered an asset.

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

● Compassionate, patient, reliable, and able to work independently.

● Robust organizational and observational skills.

Requirements

● Must reside in the Lethbridge, Alberta area.

● Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and reliable personal vehicle are required, as public transportation is not available.

Valid work permit required.

● Must be available to work day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts as required.

● Ability to maintain client confidentiality and professional standards at all times.
