Who We Are...
Schramm's Woodcraft has been producing Architectural Millwork for 30 years. Our manufacturing facility is located in Edmonton, but we install our product across Alberta.
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Millwork Draftsperson / CNC Programmer to join our commercial millwork team.
This position is responsible for interpreting architectural drawings and project specifications, preparing accurate millwork shop drawings, and programming approved work in Cabinet Vision or similar software for production. The successful candidate will help carry projects from the contract documents through approval and into manufacturing.
We are looking for someone who understands how commercial cabinetry is constructed—not just how it is drawn—and who can produce clear, practical information for both our clients and our shop. This is a key technical position where you'll work closely with leadership to improve standards, streamline production, and help drive the next stage of our company's growth.
Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a practical drafting/programming exercise using a sample commercial millwork project.
What You Will Do...
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, schedules, addenda, and project scope.
- Prepare accurate and complete millwork shop drawings for client and consultant approval.
- Create plans, elevations, sections, details, and installation information as required.
- Identify missing information, discrepancies,
and constructability concerns before production.
- Prepare questions and provide information required for RFIs.
- Revise shop drawings based on consultant comments, site conditions, and approved changes.
- Program approved cabinetry and millwork.
- Apply the correct materials, hardware, construction methods, machining, and assembly details.
- Generate cut lists, material reports, labels, and CNC-ready production information.
- Review programs and machining for accuracy before releasing work to the shop.
- Coordinate with project management, estimating, purchasing, production, and installation personnel.
- Maintain organized drawing files, revisions, approvals, and project records.
- Help improve programming standards, libraries, construction methods, and programming processes.
- Support material takeoffs and hardware selection when required.
- Assist with site measurements and project coordination as needed.
What Qualities a Candidate Must Possess...

- Understanding of CNC machining and production processes is an asset.
- Ability to identify drawing conflicts and develop practical, buildable solutions.
- Robust attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
