About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Junior Grading Assistant to support our learning centre by accurately grading student work and assisting with classroom organization. This position is ideal for individuals who are organized, enjoy working in an educational environment, and have strong Math and English skills. It is an excellent opportunity for students interested in education or those looking to gain experience in an academic setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently grade student worksheets and record results
- Maintain organized student files and ensure records are up to date
- Prepare and organize student materials, including worksheets and learning resources
- Assist with classroom setup, inventory management, and supply organization
- Help maintain a quiet, focused, and orderly learning environment
- Observe student progress and communicate any concerns or trends to the Instructor
- Support students with basic guidance when appropriate, while encouraging independent learning
- Assist instructors and other staff with administrative and classroom tasks as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum one year of previous work experience is required (experience does not need to be in education or at Kumon)
- Robust attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong Math and English skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, responsible, and able to meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills
- Comfortable handling confidential student information with professionalism and discretion
- Experience working with children or in an educational environment is an asset but not required
- Familiarity with the Kumon Method is an asset
Job Requirements
- Must be available for a minimum of two shifts per week
- Must be able to commit to the role for at least one year
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced educational environment
- A Criminal Record Check will be required for successful candidates
