Senior Estimator – ICI Construction
Location: Toronto, ON
Salary: $110,000 – $140,000 (based on experience)

Our client, a well-established ICI construction firm in the GTA with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality commercial and institutional projects, is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their growing team. This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned estimator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident managing the full estimating lifecycle from initial review through to final tender submission.

The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of commercial, institutional, and industrial construction, along with the ability to interpret drawings, perform detailed quantity take-offs, solicit and analyze subcontractor pricing, and produce accurate, competitive estimates.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed cost estimates for ICI construction projects, including commercial, institutional, industrial, and renovation work.

- Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and tender documents to fully understand project scope and requirements.

- Perform quantity take-offs and pricing across all major divisions of work.

- Solicit, review, and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations.

- Identify scope gaps, exclusions, risks, and opportunities throughout the tender process.

- Prepare tender summaries, bid forms, budgets, and complete estimate packages.

- Collaborate closely with project managers, coordinators, site teams, consultants, and ownership groups.

- Attend site visits, tender meetings, and client meetings as required.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and industry contacts.

- Support design-build, negotiated,



and hard-bid tender opportunities.

- Contribute to value engineering, constructability reviews, and pre-construction budgeting.

Qualifications

- 7+ years of estimating experience within the ICI construction sector.

- Proven experience estimating commercial, institutional, industrial, or public-sector projects.

- Background working with a general contractor or construction management firm is preferred.

- Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, contracts, and tender documents.

- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, building systems, and trade scopes.

- Established subcontractor and supplier network within the GTA/Ontario market.

- Proficiency with estimating software, Microsoft Excel, and related construction tools.

- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.

- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.

- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
