We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Press Operator specializing in Aluminum EZO Ends and Parts to join our dynamic manufacturing team. Job Summary

The Press Operator is responsible for safely setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining production presses used to manufacture aluminum EZO ends and related components. This position ensures products are produced according to specifications, quality requirements, and production schedules while minimizing scrap, equipment downtime, and material waste.

The Press Operator performs routine inspections, completes product changeovers, monitors press performance, documents production results, and works closely with Quality, Maintenance, and Production personnel to resolve equipment and product issues.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up, start, operate, and shut down presses used to manufacture aluminum EZO ends and related parts.
- Review work orders, production schedules, drawings, specifications, and approved samples before beginning production.
- Install or assist with installing dies, tooling, guides, feeders, guards, and other press components.
- Complete product changeovers and verify that equipment settings and tooling are correct before production begins.
- Load aluminum material and ensure it feeds correctly through the press.
- Monitor press speed, feed alignment, lubrication, air pressure, tooling condition, and other operating parameters.
- Operate multiple presses or related production equipment when required.
- Inspect finished parts for dimensions, shape, surface condition, burrs, cracks, dents, deformation, contamination, and other defects.
- Use measuring and inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and approved inspection fixtures.
- Complete first-piece, in-process, and final inspections according to established quality requirements.
- Make authorized equipment adjustments to maintain product quality and consistent press performance.
- Immediately stop production and notify the appropriate personnel when unsafe conditions, equipment problems, or quality concerns are identified.
- Identify, segregate, label, and document nonconforming or suspect material.
- Monitor scrap levels and take appropriate action to minimize material waste.
- Record production quantities, downtime, scrap, quality results, material usage, and other required information accurately.




- Troubleshoot routine press, feeding, tooling, lubrication, and material-flow problems.
- Assist Maintenance and Tooling personnel with troubleshooting, routine servicing, die changes, and authorized repairs.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and operator-level preventive maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and checking for loose, damaged, or worn components.
- Maintain proper identification and traceability of raw materials, work-in-process, finished products, and scrap.
- Package and label completed parts according to product and customer requirements.
- Maintain an organized supply of materials, containers, tools, gauges, and production documents.
- Follow all lockout/tagout, machine-guarding, personal protective equipment, material-handling, and safe-work requirements.
- Participate in continuous-improvement activities focused on safety, quality, productivity, scrap reduction, and equipment reliability.
- Communicate production status, equipment conditions, quality issues, and outstanding work during shift handovers.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area in accordance with company housekeeping standards.
- Support and train other operators on approved press-operating procedures and quality requirements when assigned.
- Perform other production-related duties as required.

Quality Responsibilities

- Produce aluminum EZO ends and parts that meet approved drawings, specifications, samples, and customer requirements.
- Follow all inspection frequencies and established quality-control procedures.
- Confirm that measuring equipment is approved and within its calibration period before use.
- Report recurring defects or process variations to the Production Supervisor and Quality department.
- Prevent defective or unidentified material from advancing to the next stage of production.
- Maintain accurate and complete production and quality documentation.

Safety Responsibilities

- Operate presses only when all required guards, light curtains, interlocks, and safety devices are installed and functioning.
- Never reach into, bypass, or defeat press safeguards or safety controls.
- Follow established procedures for clearing jams, changing tooling, cleaning equipment, and performing maintenance.
- Apply lockout/tagout procedures when authorized and required.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment.
- Report injuries, near misses, unsafe conditions, and damaged equipment immediately.
- Follow all company health, safety,



environmental, and emergency-response procedures.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience operating mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or stamping presses in a manufacturing workplace is preferred.
- Experience producing aluminum or other metal components is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of press tooling, dies, material-feeding systems, and manufacturing processes is preferred.
- Ability to read work orders, production instructions, drawings, and basic product specifications.
- Ability to use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to complete production records accurately and perform basic calculations.
- Ability to recognize unsafe conditions, equipment abnormalities, and product defects.
- Ability to work independently while cooperating effectively with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Tooling personnel.
- Willingness to work assigned shifts, overtime, and weekends when required.
- Forklift or material-handling certification is an asset.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to lift and move materials, tooling, containers, or parts weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance or lifting equipment when required.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate controls, handle parts, and use inspection equipment.
- Visual ability to identify surface defects and read measurements and production information.
- Ability to work safely around moving equipment, sharp metal edges, lubricants, and production materials.

Work Environment

This position works in a manufacturing environment around operating presses, moving equipment, aluminum materials, lubricants, and production noise. Required personal protective equipment may include safety glasses, hearing protection, safety footwear, cut-resistant gloves, and other task-specific protection.

Reports to: Production Supervisor or Production Manager
