Schedule: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM (September to June)Note: Program does not run on school closure days, opportunity for further hours on PA Days.

Start Date: September 8th, 2026.

Wage Structure:

- $18.00/hour – For candidates currently enrolled in a university undergraduate program
- $20.00/hour – For candidates currently enrolled in or graduated from a Bachelor of Education program
- $23.00/hour – For candidates with a completed B.Ed. and relevant teaching experience

Additional Compensation:

- Planning time per month if needed

Key Responsibilities

- Student Safety & Transition
- Walk students safely from Cootes Paradise Elementary School to our program site each day
- Take accurate daily attendance and maintain safety protocols
- Program Planning & Engagement
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities rooted in student interests
- Foster a positive and inclusive group environment
- Support the growth and continuous improvement of the program
- Ability to learn computer software (Uplifter)
- Communication & Collaboration




- Greet students and parents with warmth and professionalism each day
- Write parent update emails to keep families informed
- Communicate regularly with Les Petites Pommes office staff and teaching team
- Answer parent emails and questions in a timely manner
- Communicate and maintain excellent relationship with schools we work with
- Comfortable using email and basic digital tools for scheduling and communication
- Setting & Behaviour Management
- Maintain clean and organized classrooms and activity spaces
- Approach student behaviour with compassion, consistency, and clear expectations
- Set a positive tone with students, parents, and fellow team members

Requirements

- Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings
- French Language Proficiency
- Familiarity with Ontario elementary school environments is an asset
- Available Monday–Friday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, September through June (excluding school closure days)
- Willing to complete a Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) upon hire
- Standard First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start date)
- Able to walk students daily from Cootes Paradise Elementary School to the program site (short outdoor walk)
- Reliable and punctual, with a commitment to consistency and follow-through
- 3 Previous References
