Localy owned and operated North Thompson Trucking specializes in equipment, heavy machinery and over dimensional through out western Canada and the North.

We are currently hiring for tridem step with ramps/six - seven axle lowbed based in Kamloops BC

Paid Layover

Daily LOA when away from home base

Base pay $0.72 per mile based on six axle - + $0.10 per axle

Plus fixed rate for load/unload

Duties

- Safely operate trucks to transport freight and materials to designated locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance
- Load and unload various equipment and machinery
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, vehicle records, and freight documentation
- Perform basic mechanical repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle readiness
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients regarding delivery schedules and issues




- Follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents or damage during transportation and loading activities

Qualifications

- Valid commercial class 1 driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years equipment and machinery hauling
- Minimum 5 years class 1 driving experience with highway experience preferred
- Ability to perform basic mechanical repairs or troubleshooting is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation purposes
- Physical ability to load, unload, and secure freight, including lifting heavy items when required
- Would consider possibly training a right less experienced driver
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high safety standards

Job Types: Full time, Permanent

Pay: $75,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
