Job Description: Housekeeper

Position Summary

The Hotel Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and presentation in hotel guest rooms, common areas, and other assigned facilities such as the marina or community buildings. The Housekeeper plays a key role in creating a welcoming, comfortable, and sanitary environment for all guests and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

- Clean and sanitize guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas according to established standards.

Change bed linens, replace towels, and replenish guest amenities.

Dust, sweep, vacuum, mop, and polish furniture, floors, and fixtures.

Empty trash receptacles and properly dispose of waste.

Report any maintenance issues, damage, or missing items promptly to management.

Restock housekeeping carts and storage areas with supplies.

Ensure all cleaning chemicals are handled and stored safely following WHMIS guidelines.

Perform deep cleaning duties periodically as assigned.

Respond to guest requests for additional items or services courteously and promptly.

Assist with cleaning and upkeep of the marina or other designated community or administrative buildings as required.

Follow all health, safety, and sanitation policies and procedures.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment and take pride in presenting all facilities to the highest standard.

Qualifications:

- Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred but not required (training provided).

WHMIS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good organizational and time management skills.

Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand, walk, bend, and stretch for extended periods.

Flexibility to assist with special projects or cleaning assignments outside the hotel (such as marina, office buildings, or event spaces).

Friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with guests and staff.

Work Setting:

- Hotel setting with occasional work at marina facilities or other properties.

Fast-paced environment requiring physical stamina and attention to detail.

Weekend, evening, and holiday shifts may be required depending on guest and event needs.
