We are seeking a proactive and field-driven HSE Advisor to support health, safety, and environmental performance in a fabrication shop in Nisku, AB. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and enforcing safety programs, conducting field-level hazard assessments, and ensuring compliance with Alberta regulations.

This role requires a strong presence on the shop floor, working directly with welders, fitters, and operators to prevent incidents—not just document them.

Key Responsibilities:

- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all shop operations.
- Conduct regular field inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits.
- Lead and participate in incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with Alberta OHS legislation and company safety standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safe work procedures and policies.
- Facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, and worker orientations.
- Monitor high-risk activities (hot work, confined space entry, lifting operations, etc.).
- Track and report safety metrics, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Support supervisors and workers in identifying and mitigating hazards.
- Maintain safety documentation, permits, and records as required.

Qualifications:

- Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.

- Minimum [2] years of HSE experience in an industrial, construction, or fabrication environment.
- Strong knowledge of Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and hazard assessments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence protected behaviors in a production environment.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- Preferred SkillsCOR (Certificate of Recognition) experience or familiarity.
- NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer) designation or working towards it.
- Experience in fabrication shops or heavy industrial environments.
- Knowledge of welding, rigging, and material handling hazards.
- Strong reporting and documentation skills.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to spend extended time on the shop floor.
- Comfortable working in a noisy, active industrial environment.
- Ability to access all areas of the shop, including elevated or confined spaces.

Compensation & Benefits:

- Competitive salary based on experience.
- Overtime opportunities (if applicable).
- Benefits package (if applicable).
- Opportunity to contribute to a strong and evolving safety culture.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $76,708.59-$108,780.34 per year
