Position Summary
Daequip Premium Attachments Ltd. is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Part-Time Bookkeeper to maintain accurate financial records and support the company's accounting functions. The successful candidate will have strong experience with Sage 50 Accounting, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Daily / Weekly Accounting
- Maintain the company's accounting records in Sage 50.
- Record and reconcile bank transactions.
- Process accounts payable and prepare payments.
- Issue customer invoices and monitor accounts receivable.
- Apply customer payments and follow up on overdue accounts as required.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements.
- Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts.
Payroll Support
- Prepare payroll information for processing.
- Maintain employee records and vacation balances.
- Process statutory remittances when required.
Month-End Support
- Prepare month-end reconciliations.
- Reconcile GST/PST accounts.
- Prepare financial reports for management.
- Assist with year-end working papers for external accountants.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain organized electronic and paper financial records.
- Assist with filing and document management.
- Support management with ad hoc financial reporting.
- Ensure confidentiality of financial information.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience.
- Proficient with Sage 50 Accounting.
- Robust knowledge of:
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Bank Reconciliations
- General Ledger
- GST/PST
- Payroll fundamentals
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with inventory accounting.
- Familiarity with job costing.
- Accounting diploma or bookkeeping certification.
Working Hours
- One full day per week (approximately 8 hours).
- Additional hours may be available during month-end or year-end periods.
