About the Job
We are currently looking for 3 part-time Market Specialists to work in our On-Farm Market. We’re searching for reliable, friendly, and hardworking individuals to join our team. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in keeping displays fresh and well-stocked.
Job Details:
Part-time: 2 or 3 shifts through the week and then weekend days as scheduled
Hours: 4-6 hour shift, mainly afternoon to close
Seasonal: April to December each year
Pay: minimum wage with the opportunity to grow
Incentives: Employee discount in market after probation period
Responsibilities:
· Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
· Arrange, rotate, and restock fruits, vegetables, and other products attractively
· Answer questions about products and make recommendations
· Operate point-of-sale system and handle transactions accurately
· Assist with receiving and unloading deliveries
· Ensure quality control by removing damaged or spoiled items
· Ensure the Market is clean and tidy, floors swept,
shelves are clean and cooler doors are wiped down
· Review products on the shelves and reposition when needed
· Manage the inventory by thorough counts, communicating when produce or products are low, and checking expiry dates
· Support the team with other market-related tasks as needed
About You
Do you have:
· 2 -5 years of previous retail or produce experience?
· The ability to juggle multiple priorities with a smile on your face?
· The ability to frequently lift 50 lbs (bags of potatoes, etc) and are used to being on your feet?
· Smart Serve and Food Handler Certifications are required, but Lee & Maria’s will work with the successful candidate to obtain this if needed. You need to be 18 years of age or older to obtain the Smart Serve Certification.
