*** About the Position ***
Intermediate to Senior Instrumentation Controls Engineer/Technologist to join our team.
Must have a Canadian Social Insurance Number and be ready to work in our Vancouver office.
We are looking for an experienced field person with an outgoing personality and can travel worldwide for system installation, commissioning and startup. Travel is also required to service our existing systems. Field experience includes:
· All common instrumentation and control valve field installation knowledge.
· Specialty instrumentation field installation knowledge (using vendor manuals).
· Work with DCS and PLC programmers to review & troubleshoot logic controls.
· Working knowledge of various motor drive equipment (disconnects, starters, VDFs, etc).
· Good site safety awareness.
Office Job Functions:
· Control system design and documentation (control narratives, functional specifications, Boolean logic diagrams).
- Size, select and choose all types of field instruments and control valves to generate instrument lists and data sheets.
- P&ID; design and drafting using AutoCAD Plant3D P&ID.;
- Effective understanding of various plant process.
- Work closely with Process and Mechanical engineering departments to resolve technical issues and maintain the project schedule.
- Effectively communicate with our customers and clients.
- Communicate with various vendors to gather quotes and issue purchase orders.
- Support our Sales Department in providing project cost estimates.
- PLC experience.
Field Commissioning Work:
· Able and willing to travel around the world to various job sites for extended lengths of time.
- Project & coordination meetings, info gathering, field verification of installation and system commissioning.
- Starting up all types of instruments and automated valves.
- Commission our control system(s) that we have designed via various control platforms (ABB, Delta-V, Honeywell, A-B, Siemens, WHY).
- Making on-the-spot decisions and changes to the controls system programming as the situation arises.
- Diagnosing, troubleshooting and fixing instrumentation and controls issues on the fly.
- Hands-on field work involving removal/replacement of faulty instruments and field devices, field wiring changes (low voltage), other mechanical hands-on field work.
- Collaborating with Plant, Consultant and fellow Lundberg engineers.
Qualifications:
· Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma/Degree - Automation, Mechatronics, Controls/Instrumentation Option.
· Applicants with business development interest and experience will receive preference.
- Industrial automation design experience.
- AutoCAD and/or Plant 3D.
- Experience with selection/sizing of instrumentation and automated valves.
- Work independently or alongside Senior Designers.
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office Suite and Windows including Teams).

Salary: $6,000.00-$8,200.00 per month
