Our client, a boutique public accounting firm with a casual, friendly, and collaborative atmosphere, located in the East End of Ottawa, is currently looking for an Accountant to join their team on a full-time basis.

***Please note this is a fully in-office position (not hybrid/remote).***

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

- Working closely with clients for corporate year-end engagements, personal & corporate tax preparation
- Reviewing bookkeeping for various clients & entering adjusting entries as required
- Acting as back-up to the Bookkeeper for processing payroll for a few select clients
- Communicating with CRA on client’s behalf
- Entering files into Caseware, preparing financial statements and producing T2s using Taxprep for Principal’s final review before submission to CRA
- Liaising with clients in both English and French by phone, email, and in person, to gather supporting documents and missing information
- May be required to visit a couple of clients once per month to complete their bookkeeping
- Tracking and ensuring key deadlines are consistently being met
- Other duties as required

Required skills and qualifications:

- Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Accountant, ideally in a public accounting firm, or a variety of different industries
- Must have experience with QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop considered an asset
- Must be bilingual – fluent English and working knowledge of French (read & converse with clients)
- Experience with Caseware & Taxprep is preferred, or a similar tax preparation software
- Solid organizational skills and ability to manage multiple files at once, while ensuring deadlines are being met
- Ability to reconcile accounts and balance sheet
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Strong problem-solving skills




- Post-secondary education in accounting considered an asset
- Must be comfortable working with a very friendly dog in the office

The starting salary range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000, depending on experience. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys a casual yet fast-paced environment, working in the office amongst their peers, and appreciates a variety of tasks/responsibilities.

Work Hours: Monday to Friday – 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (Fridays end at 2:30 PM during the summer)
