Overview
We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our underground plumbing team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy machinery and possess strong mechanical knowledge. This role involves operating various types of construction equipment, including skid steers, excavators, graders, and backhoes, to support diverse project needs. The position offers an excellent chance for individuals with a background in heavy equipment operation and construction to contribute to large and small scale projects. Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment with precision and safety.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal functioning.
- Assist with site preparation, grading, excavation, and paving tasks as required.
- Follow project plans and specifications to execute tasks efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area around machinery and construction sites.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries on-site.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within scope.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment.
- Mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is preferred for transporting equipment or materials.
- Must have valid license and be insurable.
- Experience installing sewer and plumbing is an asset.
- Strong understanding of construction safety standards and practices.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
