The Yarrow Centre is seeking an experienced, reliable, and detail-oriented Full-Time Cleaner & Facilities Support team member to help maintain a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming early learning environment.

This is a hands-on cleaning role that includes daily cleaning, deep cleaning, laundry, toy and materials care, and responding to messes that naturally happen in a children’s setting.

We are looking for someone who already has professional cleaning experience, takes pride in high-quality work, and can work independently without needing basic cleaning training.

Responsibilities may include:

- Daily cleaning of classrooms, bathrooms, hallways, entryways, staff areas, and shared spaces
- Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, sanitizing, and garbage/recycling removal
- Cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms and toileting areas
- Cleaning up spills, accidents, bodily fluids, urine, feces, and other messes as needed
- Completing laundry, including classroom linens, cloths, blankets, dress-up clothes, and other washable materials
- Deep cleaning tasks such as walls, windows, baseboards, shelves, carpets, furniture, mats, and high-touch surfaces
- Carpet cleaning and scheduled maintenance cleaning as needed
- Cleaning, sanitizing, rotating, and organizing toys, classroom materials, sensory items, and shared equipment
- Supporting the ongoing care and organization of learning materials and storage areas
- Monitoring cleaning supplies, paper products, laundry supplies, and other facility materials
- Preparing supply order lists for management
- Following health, safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures




- Supporting a clean, calm, and well-maintained environment for children, families, and staff
- Completing additional cleaning and facilities-related tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications

The successful applicant must have:

- Previous professional cleaning, janitorial, housekeeping, school, childcare, or commercial cleaning experience
- Strong references that speak to reliability, quality of work, trustworthiness, and consistency
- The ability to work independently and complete tasks to a high standard
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfort with both light cleaning and heavy/deep cleaning tasks
- Comfort cleaning up bodily fluids and accidents in a children’s environment
- The physical ability to bend, lift, carry, reach, kneel, and complete active cleaning duties throughout the day
- Respect for children, families, staff, privacy, and confidential environments
- A clear criminal record check, including the vulnerable sector
