We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Therapeutic Riding Instructor to deliver safe, quality lessons at WETRA. The successful candidate will be responsible for traditional instructor duties such as the planning and delivery of therapeutic riding lessons.
### Duties
- Set up individual lesson plans including goals, objectives and logical progressions.
- Prepare lesson plans and progress notes.
- Maintain communication with parents, riders, volunteers, and consulting professionals.
- Assist with fundraisers and special events.
- Provide leadership and mentoring for volunteer performance and safety.
- Maintain lesson arena, tack room and facility conditions in a clean and protected state.
- Ensure horses are handled in the safest manner and according to WETRA policies.
- Represent the Windsor - Essex Therapeutic Riding Association in a professional and courteous manner.
### Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred
- Horsemanship/riding skills and experience working with individuals with disabilities
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of educational programs or nonprofit organizations is desirable
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
- Certification with the Canadian Therapeutic Riding Association (CanTRA), and/or Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship Intl. (Path Intl.), or a strong willingness to work towards it.
