Title: Supply Chain Buyer
Reports to: Purchasing Supervisor
Location: Surrey - In Office
Shift: Mon – Fri
Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

With a central distribution warehouse in Surrey and six strategically located branches, we represent major aftermarket manufacturers of wheels, rims, axles, clutches, filters, and components for brakes, drivelines, suspension, exhaust, and lighting systems. Position Overview:

The Supply Chain Buyer plays a key role in the day-to-day purchasing and inventory replenishment operations at CBS Parts. This position ensures accurate and timely procurement of goods for our distribution center and branch network, while maintaining strong supplier relationships and supporting internal teams.

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager and working closely with the Purchasing Supervisor, the Supply Chain Buyer is responsible for reviewing system-generated order suggestions, creating purchase orders, expediting shipments, and resolving issues related to inventory availability and supplier performance. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented buyer who enjoys high-volume execution, problem-solving, and working closely with suppliers and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

- Review and adjust system-generated order requisitions based on demand trends, branch overstock, and inventory model levels.
- Consolidate orders to meet supplier freight terms and optimize purchasing efficiency.
- Create and manage a high volume of Purchase Orders,



ensuring accuracy and compliance with supplier and carrier terms.
- Take ownership of critical inventory items by proactively expediting late or urgent shipments to prevent stockouts.
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to maintain strong working relationships.
- Work with Accounting to resolve pricing and invoice discrepancies.
- Coordinate with Warehouse staff to address receiving issues such as damage or shortages.
- Support inventory availability targets through timely ordering and proactive follow-up on open purchase orders.
- Perform additional purchasing-related administrative duties as required.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

- 2+ years of hands-on purchasing or procurement experience (including creating purchase orders, supplier follow-up, and order tracking) required.
- Experience limited strictly to warehouse or inventory handling roles without direct purchasing responsibilities will not be considered.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for supplier and internal team collaboration.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Windows, Word, and Excel (tables, functions, formulas, queries, VBA) is required.
- Basic typing proficiency (30+ WPM) is required to support high-volume data entry and order management.
- Experience with inventory management systems (e.g., Counterpoint)



is an asset; training provided.
- Knowledge of the trucking and transportation industry is an asset.
- Ability to work independently, anticipate needs, and manage multiple tasks in a demanding environment.

Work Environment:

This is a primarily administrative office role with regular coordination and communication with warehouse and branch staff in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Physical warehouse duties are generally not required.
