We are seeking to add a full-time in-office Conveyancing Specialist to support our Retail Mortgage Enforcement Team at our Vancouver office. We are looking for someone who possesses superior organizational and interpersonal skills, prioritizes tasks effectively, pays keen attention to detail and has a demonstrable ability to tackle a high volume of legal support duties within tight deadlines.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Preparation of documentation relating to residential sale transactions
- Conducting BC Online searches
- Managing closings of sale transactions and filing documents in Land Title Office
- Communicating in a timely fashion with purchase & sale transaction players and their representatives (realtors, notaries/solicitors and others) as required
- Drafting legal documents and correspondence
- Completing sale and mortgage payout transactions and preparing internal documents relating to trust transactions / trust account documentation
- Completing mortgage reinstatement transactions
- Ensuring key closings dates and tasks are diarized
- Maintaining legal files, such as scanning documents, filing (primarily electronically), billing and file closings
- Updating relevant databases, managing document delivery and reporting as required
- E-filing and paper filing court and land/manufactured home registration documents
- Communicating with lender clients and their customers and solicitors as required
- Providing over-flow support and vacation/leave coverage for legal support staff




- Completing any other administrative duties as requested / required

QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years’ experience as a residential conveyancer (or equivalent experience)
- Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution or equivalent experience
- Working knowledge of BC Online and myLTSA
- Working knowledge of mortgage lending practices
- Proficient with web applications, MS Word, Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills
- Impeccable proofreading and grammar
- Highly dependable and adaptable
- Ability to handle a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain strong working relationships by working collaboratively in a team setting
- Ability to exercise good judgment, professionalism, and to maintain confidentiality
- Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and independently manage files

Competitive compensation: The salary range for this role is $48,000 – $75,000 per annum. Within this range,



individual pay is determined by market rates, job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees

Paid Time Off: vacation time starts at 3 weeks, and 10 sick days per year

HOURS OF WORK

This position is Monday to Friday starting at 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. This is a 7-hour paid day, 35-hour work week. This is an in-office position.
