The Temiskaming Hospital, located approximately 150 kilometres north of North Bay, is nestled upon the traditional territory of the Algonquin, Anishinaabe and Cree people along the beautiful shores of Lake Temiskaming.

TH offers a wide range of acute and post-acute care including emergency and intensive care, medical/surgical care, obstetrical, rehabilitation and complex/transitional care and palliative care services. Through regional partnerships and visiting specialists, TH is able to offer a broad range of outpatient services including dialysis and chemotherapy. In addition to the above, the Hospital offers laboratory, diagnostic imaging and mental health and addictions programs.

Current Recruitment Incentives:

- Registered Nurses (Full-time, only) - $5,000 (3 years return of service)

- Registered Nurses (Part-time, only) - $3,000 (1 year return of service)

- Pharmacist (Full-time) - $ 20,000 Sign-On Bonus for 5 years return of service

Job Listings

The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for clinical pharmacy services, provision of pharmaceutical care, provision of drug information and education, participation in multi-disciplinary patient care teams. The Pharmacy department supports a full range of services including general medicine, surgery, obstetrics/Level1B nursery, pediatrics, critical care, emergency department, outpatient oncology, ambulatory care, and complex continuing care.

Affiliation: Union - OPSEU

Rate of Pay: $48.21 - $64.50

Hours of Work:

8:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday to Friday

Mandatory Requirements:

- Degree of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm D
- Registered as a Part A Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Assets:

- Hospital residency and/or two (2) years hospital pharmacy practice experience
- Specialized training and certification (e.g.geriatrics, antimicrobial stewardship, etc.)
- Proficiency with Meditech software
- Bilingualism (French/English)

Responsibilities:

- Therapeutic order review, clarification, modification, and verification
- Collaborate with health care team to optimize pharmacotherapy and reduce adverse drug events
- Medication reconciliation and patient education on admission, transfer, and discharge
- Participate in our multidisciplinary team, including attending patient care rounds
- Respond to drug information questions
- Liaise between pharmacy operations and patient care areas
