Qualifications – Ontario Healthcare Facility

- Current registration in valuable standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as a Nurse Practitioner (NP)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Canadian Nurse Practitioner experience (required)
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) completed within the last 6 months
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: 3-month assignment with possibility of extension
- Full-time availability required
- Monday to Friday schedule
- Hours: Full-time (Monday–Friday)

Responsibilities:
Nurse Practitioners are required to adhere to the scope of practice as defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

- Conduct comprehensive health assessments, diagnose illnesses, and develop individualized treatment plans for long-term care residents
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to optimize resident care and clinical outcomes
- Prescribe medications, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and monitor resident responses to treatment
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with professional, organizational, and regulatory standards
- Promote resident safety,



provide education to residents and families, and support quality improvement initiatives within the long-term care home

Note: Duties may vary slightly based on facility and shift, with specific guidance provided during site orientation.

Experience:

- 2 years of relevant Canadian Nurse Practitioner experience (required)
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as a Nurse Practitioner
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems is an asset
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative interdisciplinary team
- Strong clinical judgment, leadership, and adaptability in a long-term care setting
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Strong attention to detail for accurate clinical documentation and medication management
- Compassion and empathy when supporting residents and their families
