Job Overview
The Poppy Residences is an independent living senior’s residence located near Metrotown in Burnaby (http://thepoppyresidences.com). We are very centrally located and have easy access to transit and skytrain.

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team. This role is essential in delivering high-quality meals and exceptional service to our residents. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and handling, ensuring that all food safety standards are met while providing an enjoyable dining experience.

The shift is Friday-Tuesday, 11:00am-7:00pm.

Responsibilities

- Prepares and produces all meals as per the posted menu
- Plates the meals for dinner.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Handle food items safely, ensuring proper storage and labeling practices are followed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during service hours.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages or needs to management.

Skills





- Proven experience in senior living or restaurant environments is preferred.
- Robust knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
- Familiarity with food handling and safety regulations is essential.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and residents.

Requirements

· Must complete a Criminal Record Check

· Must possess a diploma from a recognized technical program for cooks

· Food Safe Level 1

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00 per hour
